The short version
Why they differ
CRMs disagree about what an “activity” is. HubSpot has purpose-built objects for emails and calls, so a sent email becomes a real email engagement and a dialer call becomes a call record. LinkedIn messages have no natural equivalent, so they become tasks. Salesforce, Zoho and Pipedrive model activity as tasks or activity records, so that is what Fuse creates. Zoho has a native Calls module, so dialer calls go there instead of becoming tasks. Attio has no activity object at all, only notes. Everything Fuse records there becomes a note on the person.Attio’s Emails tab is filled exclusively by Attio’s own mailbox sync and is not open to other tools, so Fuse cannot write into it. Your sent emails are there, under Notes. See troubleshooting for the one-time fix that puts them in the Emails tab natively.
Two behaviours worth separating
These work in opposite directions, and conflating them causes most of the confusion.Activity is written once
When Fuse sends an email it creates one record and never touches it again, as a permanent log of something that happened.
Engagement is kept current
When someone opens, clicks or replies, Fuse overwrites the fields on their record so they always show where that person stands today.
What controls it
Contact and company syncing is configured per CRM in the Fuse app, under Settings → Integrations. Choose your CRM, then open the Sync tab. Activity and engagement syncing are on by default and have no toggle in the app yet. If you need either turned off for your workspace, contact support.Where to go next
