# Emails, calls and LinkedIn

> What a sent email, LinkedIn message or dialer call becomes in each CRM, and why those records are never updated afterwards.

Every message Fuse sends on your behalf can be recorded against the person in your CRM, so your team sees the full history without leaving it.

## What gets created

This is where CRMs differ most.

| Fuse sends                         | Attio | HubSpot | Salesforce | Zoho | Pipedrive |
| ---------------------------------- | ----- | ------- | ---------- | ---- | --------- |
| Campaign email                     | Note  | Email   | Task       | Task | Activity  |
| Email from your inbox              | Note  | Email   | Task       | Task | Activity  |
| LinkedIn message, invite or InMail | Note  | Task    | Task       | Task | Activity  |
| Call from the dialer               | Note  | Call    | Task       | Call | Activity  |

**HubSpot** gives the richest result. A sent email becomes a real email engagement on the contact's timeline, and a dialer call becomes a call record with its recording details. LinkedIn has no natural equivalent in HubSpot, so those become tasks.

**Zoho** logs dialer calls in its native Calls module, and everything else as tasks.

**Attio** only has notes, so everything becomes a note on the person. See [troubleshooting](/crm/troubleshooting) for why sent emails do not appear in Attio's Emails tab.

## What is in the record

Each record carries the subject, the date, the campaign it belongs to, and the message body. Calls also include direction, duration, outcome and, where available, the transcript.

## Records are written once

Fuse creates each record once and never edits it afterwards. It is a log of something that happened at a point in time.

<Note>
  That means **opens, clicks and replies do not appear on these records**. They happen after the message was already logged, so they live on the contact record instead, in [engagement fields](/crm/engagement).
</Note>

## What gets recorded

Activity syncing is on by default and covers:

* **Emails**, both campaign emails and emails from your connected inbox
* **LinkedIn** messages, connection requests and InMail
* **Calls** from the dialer, including recordings and transcripts

There is no toggle for these in the app yet. If you need activity syncing turned off for your workspace, or want only some of these recorded, [contact support](mailto:support@fuseai.com).

## Timing

Activity sync runs once an hour, so a message sent just now typically appears within the hour.

Dialer calls take a little longer. Fuse waits fifteen minutes after a call ends before syncing it, so the recording, outcome and transcript are attached rather than arriving empty. In practice a call appears on the next hourly run after that wait.

If you have just connected your CRM, the first run backfills your history, which can take several passes on a busy account.

## When a person is not in your CRM yet

Activity attaches to a contact record, so if the person has not been pushed yet there is nothing to attach to.

Fuse handles this by adding the missing contact first, then recording the activity against them. If the contact cannot be created, most often because they have no email address, the activity is skipped. See [contacts and companies](/crm/contacts-and-companies).
