# Delete a list

> Deletes the list. The contacts themselves stay in the workspace and in every other list they belong to; custom columns and their cell values go with the list. A second delete of the same id answers 404 LIST_NOT_FOUND.

Errors:
- `404` `LIST_NOT_FOUND` — No list with that id is visible to the token owner.
- `422` `VALIDATION_FAILED` — listId is not a 24-hex id.
- `429` `RATE_LIMITED` — The lists rate bucket is exhausted.

Requires one of the following token scopes: lists.
